Cherry Chocolate Chip Scones

The most delicious cherry scones ever! Simple enough for kids to help bake and the chocolate chips will add a touch of sweetness to your morning!



Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

In a large bowl or in the bowl of your food processor, blend flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt.

Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or a few pulses in the food processor until the mixture looks like pea-sized crumbs

Add heavy cream, extracts and eggs. Mix until just combined.

Gently stir in cherries and chocolate chips.

Pour dough out on a parchment lined baking sheet. Shape into a rough circle, adding more flour if necessary. Sometimes the cherry juice can make the dough too sticky.

Cut the dough into eight triangles.

Bake scones for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
