I want so badly to edit this photo. I want to put I want so badly to edit this photo. I want to put a filter on it to smooth out the wrinkles, hide the extra chins, make the scars, excess fat and gray roots go away. But if I do all that, then it’s not a picture of me. It’s how I would like to present myself to you - younger, smoother, prettier, thinner. All the things the world says are important. The things you have to pretend to be in order to feel successful or worthy. But here’s the thing, I am worthy. Just like this. No makeup, hair pulled into a weird clip, every flaw on display. I am worthy. Right here. Right now. I am enough. And so are you! There is no denying the last several months have been challenging. We have faced a lot of things. A lot has changed. More changes are coming. And we are 100% capable of handling them as we are. We’ve gotten through every other bad day so far. Real. Flawed. Imperfections on display. Human beings just doing our best. It’s enough.
