It’s Football Season! Every year, every person in our family chooses a team to follow! For my oldest two children, the teams don’t change. Our son is a Charger Fan and our daughter is a die-hard Packer Fan. The rest of us juggle between teams each year, depending on who we like at the beginning of the season. The last several years, I’ve been a Saints fan! Part of it has to do with a work trip when we were helping with the damage from Hurricane Katrina. One of the days we were in New Orleans, we were blessed enough to have lunch on the 50-yard line of Superdome! Since then, I’ve followed the Saints! You can’t eat on the field and then NOT follow their team. I think it’s a rule! :-)
Last week when we had a potluck at work, one of my fellow teachers, brought in this easy cheesy spicy jalapeño dip. It’s so good! I bought all the ingredients on the way home that very afternoon! It is perfect for hanging out in the living room, spending time with family, watching football and yelling at the TV!
Loaded with four different cheeses, this a pan full of oozy, yummy goodness! It has a bit of a kick from the diced jalapeño (you can use mild green chiles if you don’t like things too spicy!) There are only a few ingredients and this dip goes together very quickly! Even though we don’t agree on which football team is best, our family ALL agrees this is one of the best jalapeño dips we’ve ever had! Homemade pita chips or tortilla chips make great dipping tools too. Of course, if you can’t wait, there is always a spoon. *Ahem* Not that anyone I know would do that…. umm… GO SAINTS!
So far, my Saints are tied for the best record in our family football pool! We’ll have to see what happens by the time the Superbowl rolls around. I can tell you this though… this Easy Cheesy Spicy Jalapeño dip will be on the table for the Big Game! So, who is your favorite football team and what is your favorite football food? I’d love to hear!
