Halloween is almost here! We bought our candy when it was on sale earlier in the month. We may or may not, have already opened the bag… No judgement, right? You’ve had to buy more candy for trick-or-treaters because you ate it all, right? Right? Well, if you haven’t, than you may, or may not, have more will power than I do. HA!
I know we’ve all had the “terrible” problem of what to do with leftover Halloween candy. I’m always looking for unique ways to incorporate those little bite-size bars into cookies or brownies or some type of baked treat. Other than snickers, which go straight into the freezer for when I need a chocolate fix, I’m at a loss for something new. Or, I *was* at a loss until I ran across these Frozen Candy Bar Banana Pops at Real Simple.
Their recipe called for only using peanut butter cups for the banana pops. First, that would never go over well in this house. The peanut butter cups are always the first to go. (Shhhh… don’t tell my husband I snagged one to use for this recipe.) Secondly, there are other candy bars that work just as well! Kit Kats, Almond Joy, Mounds, Butterfingers, Snickers, Whoppers. Any candy bar you can chop up and roll in chocolate would be awesome.
These will make great snacks for my grand daughter Mini Sous and are still slightly healthy. At least the banana part of it is good for you!
For these bananas, I used a Peanut Butter Cup, a Kit Kat and an Almond Joy. Three fabulous (bite size) candy bars for three fabulous different options!
What do you think? Isn’t this a little better than layering all those candies in a brownie? Not that I don’t intend to do that too, I’m just saying! Have fun with these, friends! Do you have a favorite way to use leftover Halloween Candy? Share with me in the comments below! I’d love to hear!
Until next time, live life deliciously!
What a great idea!
