Helping Hand Cookies for Kids Cancer!

Hi friends! Today, I’m doing something a little different. I’m teaming up with a group of amazing food bloggers to help raise money for pediatric cancer research. We are having a “Good Cookies Food Bloggers Valentines Event” to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer. Everyone is making cookies or Valentine’s Day treats and sharing their posts. You can see the whole list below! We’re all asking our readers to help donate to find a cure for these horrible diseases. I made cutout sugar cookies. I’m calling them “Helping Hand Cookies.” They’ll sweeten your Valentine’s Day and hopefully encourage you to lend a hand to kids in need.

Did you know pediatric cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 children in the United States actively battling cancer right now. That means there are 40,000 families battling with them…

As a Mom of three and Omie to two precious little babies, I can’t even imagine the heartbreak involved in hearing the words “Your child has cancer,” much less the incredible fight that happens after. We are blessed to have had healthy babies and grand babies. And as we are so blessed, it’s important to me that we give back and help those who haven’t been so lucky.

Less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget goes to all childhood cancer combined. Less than 4%? Wow…after reading those numbers, I knew it was important to get involved and that meant getting more involved than just making Helping Hand Cookies. You can help too!

Join us in making a difference in the lives of children battling cancer by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! Our goal, as a blogging group, is to raise at least $3000. To participate in this event, we all donated at least $20 or more, plus a Valentine post and recipe! These three AMAZING companies: Dixie Crystals, Land O’Lakes and Mediavine have each pledged to match any donations raised through this campaign, up to $3,000! Y’all that is $3,000 from each company! Can you believe it? With your generosity, we could raise over $12,000! That’s a nice chunk of change for some research to find a cure, don’t you think?

Currently, we have raised $1,515! That’s over half-way to our $3,000 goal! With your help, I know we can exceed it! If you’re able, please consider helping with a donation of your own today. Every little bit helps!
