Simple, sweet, fun. That’s the beauty of these Meringue Cookies. Simple ingredients transformed to something sweet and fun that everyone can enjoy. Childhood should be this way too. Sweet. Simple. Fun. Unfortunately, for children battling pediatric cancer, life can be anything but simple.
As a parent and grandparent, I don’t know what I would do if a child in our family were diagnosed with cancer. It’s a devastating disease. We have been blessed to have healthy children and grandchildren. For others though, that is not the case. While I can’t cure pediatric cancer, I can bake cookies! Cookies that could help a child have a sweeter life. So once again this year, I’m participating in the Good Cookie Food Bloggers Valentine’s Event!
Organized by Julie from “The Little Kitchen” (Thank you Julie!) our goal is to raise $3000 for Cookies For Kids Cancer to help fund research for all forms of pediatric cancer. I’m not alone in this fight! There are over 40 bloggers participating this year, and we all have recipes to share! (The links are listed below!) There are plenty of mouth-watering options to help you have a sweet Valentines Day!
Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease for children in the United States. Currently, there are over 40,000 children in our country actively battling cancer. Unfortunately, less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget goes to battle childhood cancer. Less than 4%!
You can make a difference by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! If you choose to donate, your donations are tax deductible since they are a non-profit organization! Amazing, right? If we raise $3000, a grand total of $12,000 will be donated to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! How is that possible? Simple. Three wonderful brands: Dixie Crystals, Mediavine and OXO are matching what we raise dollar for dollar up to $3000 each. Now that is what I call sweet!
We are accepting donations through March 1st, so if you are able to help in any way, here is the link to follow: Donate here. Please join us in trying to give every child a sweet, simple and fun childhood, free from pediatric cancer.
Thank you!
Here are all the sweet links from my fellow bloggers, as well as all the information about our FABULOUS sponsors! Enjoy and thank you again for your support!
