Every day I find new inspiration in my life! A lightbulb moment on the face of one of my students inspires me to be a better teacher. Seeing someone pay-it-forward inspires me to give more of myself to those around me. Learning a new cooking technique that I experiment with until my family begs for mercy and requests (sometimes not too nicely) that I try something else for a while, inspires me to be a better cook! My husband, whom I’ve been with for the past 28 years, inspires me to reach for my dreams and constantly shows me the meaning of unconditional love.
Going to Duff Goldman’s CakeMix last week for Susan Whetzel’s S’more Cookbook launch party, has inspired me too! Not only am I excited about a new cookbook FULL of S’mores recipes, I am inspired to give away a piece of that evening!
That night we were each blessed with a copy of Susan Whetzels The S’more Cookbook. We decorated a S’more Cake and had fun getting to know each other. While we can’t decorate a cake together, we can do a cookbook giveaway and have some fun getting to know each other! Leave me a comment below, sharing your favorite S’mores memory. It can be anything from a favorite childhood memory about S’mores, camping, having S’mores with your kids or grandkids, or even your favorite way to eat a S’more! For each comment, you’ll be entered to win your very own copy of The S’mores Cookbook! The classic flavor combination of graham crackers, Hershey bars and toasted marshmallows is re-created and celebrated in a variety of different ways throughout this book. You’ll find recipes like S’mores Stuffed French Toast, Crock-Pot S’mores Brownies, S’mores Chocolate Sherbet, a S’more Tini and so much more! If you love S’mores, this cookbook is a must have!
There are other opportunities to win, but you have to leave a comment to qualify. The give-away will run from Tuesday Aug 20th, 2013 to Tuesday Aug 27th, 2013. A winner will be chosen by Rafflecopter and that person will be notified via Email and have 48 hours to respond. Easy Peasy! Unfortunately, this giveaway is open to US residents only, but don’t fret my Canadian/World friends! My next few giveaways are open to EVERYONE so stay tuned.
I’m looking forward to reading all your favorite S’more memories! Have fun and good luck!
I NEVER had a S’More until a few years ago, well over age 30! My little girl loves them!
Hi Sara I have a very good friend that comes up to the mountains to visit with her 3 adorable daughters. Every time they come they ask my fiance to make s’mores with them! During the summer it’s outside in the fire pit, then winter we do it inside with our woodstove! It has become a cherished tradition. I thought it would be fun to try some recipe’s from this cookbook so they can learn some cooking skills!
I have 6 grandkids and they love s’mores. Made some once with bananas, too yummy!
Ohh! Bananas sound great with S’mores! Thanks for sharing Rosie. Good luck!
I am obsessed with s’mores! I love making them in the microwave since it’s not like I have a campfire going all year round :) I learned how to make them when I was younger and had a major craving for that oozy marshmallow, crunchy graham crackers and rich chocolate! I made a s’more and melted it in the microwave for like 30 seconds. I can still remember how HUGE the marshmallow got before it deflated. I ate the whole thing with a fork and knife! Now I only melt it for 10 seconds for the perfect microwave s’more.
Thanks for sharing Melinda! Don’t S’more memories just make you smile? Good luck!
S’mores. Yummy. Just need to add some coconut and it would be absolutely perfect :-)
A couple summers ago, I spent the day camping near the beach with cousins. At night, we roasted marshmallows for our smores but also added strawberries before smushing together the chocolate and marshmallows. Yum!
My most recent memory is in my preschool class a couple months ago when I made a fire using paper towel rolls painted brown for the wood. Flames out of red, yellow & orange tissue paper with a pipe cleaner in the middle to bend it the way I needed for the fire & set it in the center of black bulletin board paper cut in a circle. I gave my 3yr old students a brown pipe cleaner with a cotton ball on the end. We sat on the floor around the fire and roasted our pretend marshmallows. I then went to the kitchen and made s’mores in the microwave, took them back to the room and the children LOVED it! It was SO MUCH FUN! Yeah Primrose School of Round Rock at Forest Creek in Texas. I MISS you!
My favorite memory – I stopped at the store to buy all the ingredients and ran home to change my clothes after work leaving the bag of ingredients on the table. I had to go run another errand and came home to a torn up marshmallow bag all over my entire house. Out pranced my sweet 3 year old (at that time) golden retriever with sticky marshmallow remnants all over his long haired chest.
That’s awesome!! Thanks so much for sharing that smile! Good luck!
Love to add this to my collection of cookbooks!
It’s a great one to have too Judy! Thanks and good luck!
Hi I really really want this smore’s cookbook. As a little kid I remember vacations with my cousins sitting at the campfire at night making smore’s. Memories that will last a life time.
What a fun memory! I’m glad you posted! Thank you and good luck!
