As 2017 comes to an end, I find myself filled with hope and inspiration. I am excited for all the new possibilities of 2018. I don’t know what will happen in the next 12 months. I can plan and pray, but essentially, what is supposed to happen will happen.
May we remember all the bad and ugly things and all the good and great things from 2017. Every tiny piece of last year shaped and molded us for today. While we may not enjoy the lessons or the tears, the arguments or the pain, they made us who we are in this very moment. Celebrate all of it!
Life happens, but thankfully we don’t walk this planet alone. We have the very real choice of learning from life and seeing where it takes us (while working our ass off to reach our dreams) or letting it weigh us down with discouragement as we try to move forward.
What choice will you make this year?
As you ponder that, take a glimpse back and the delicious year we’ve shared together!
In January there was Strawberry Meyer Lemon Marmalade!
February was BIRTHDAY month and we made Tropical Friendship Bars!
March brought an Herb and Leek Frittata and April was all about Zucchini Bread and Butter Pickles. Which I made countless times over the summer because they are so quick and easy to make.
May was Burger Month and we celebrated with this Ultimate Pizza Burger!
And in June, I was blessed to be back at the OC Fair – doing more demos on Quick Pickles and easy Summer Salads!
When July rolled around we were talking about perfect Summer Picnics!
And in August I was a total fan-girl meeting Chef Jet Tila and getting his new cookbook “101 Asian Dishes!” Side note: We have made 6 of the 101 dishes and they’ve all turned out fabulous. Very flavorful and easy to put together. If you don’t have this book yet, you need it!
In September we swung to the sweet side with a glorious Monkey Bread from the Cuisine Del Sol Cookbook and fundraiser for Special Olympics!
October was busy! We shared Vampire Blood Soup, a trip to Oak Glen and a weekend road trip for Valley Fig Growers!
In November, we had a healthy, seasonal Pomegranate Persimmon Salad to counteract the heavy foods of the holidays!
And we ended the year with Sparkling Sugared Cranberries! Perfect for so many different holiday treats!
May 2018 be blessed, bountiful, beautiful, brilliant and most of all, delicious! Thank you all for being here and sharing another trip around the calendar. I hope this next year will bring us even more things to learn, ideas to share and great food for the table.
From my Kitchen to yours, with all my love!
Sara
