Let’s start our weekend off right! How about this delicious Peach Mango Sangria Granita from my friend Carrie! She’s a fun and spunky blogging pal and I can’t wait for you to read (and try!!) what she is sharing! So without further ado… in my best Ed McMahon voice… Heeeerrrre’s Carrie!
Hi guys! My name is Carrie and I blog over at Bakeaholic Mama. I am so excited to be guest posting for Sara today!
For those of you who do not know me and my blog. I am a former preschool teacher who now stays home with my three kids ages 6, 4, and 20 months old. I started my blog about 2 years ago as a way to share my love for baking and a way of connecting with other women who are like me! I never in a million years thought that 2 years later I would have formed so many great friendships, improved my baking and cooking and that my little hobby would now be a part-time job.
On my blog you can find anything from family friendly meals like BBQ Chicken Baked Mac n’ Cheese or something as fancy French Macarons. I am a firm believer that good food can be made by anyone with just a little guidance and effort.
Since Cinco de Mayo is coming up I’ve been on a Sangria kick. This Mama needs a drink at night to unwind after running after the kids. To twist it up a bit I decided to make my favorite fruity drink into a cool me down dessert!
Peach Mango Sangria Granitas
Ingredients:
1 bottle of Riesling or other sweet white wine
3 cups peach mango juice ( you can use any fruit juice of your choice if you can’t find this combo)
1 cup chopped fruit to garnish (berries, peaches, mango…)
Directions:
In a large bowl mix wine and juice together transfer into a 9×3 baking dish or a turkey roaster like I used!
Freeze mixture for 30 minutes. Stir. Return to freezer.
Freeze for another 30 minutes, using a fork this time stir/scrape the mixture to break up all the ice crystals.
Return to freezer again for another hour. Stir/scrape. When the mixture is the consistency of a slushy you can serve it. Total time: approximately 2 hours, serves 6.
Ready for the sunshine this weekend to make and enjoy this – thanks~
looooove the new design and look my friend! Thanks for having me :)
Thanks for such a great recipe Carrie!! I love it!
