Stone fruits are in season and I couldn’t be happier! This means there are peaches, nectarines and plums a-plenty both at the grocery store and in my local Farmers Markets!
My favorite stone fruits are peaches. In the summer, I put them in everything: salads, ice-cream, drinks, it doesn’t matter! I was especially excited to share my love of all things Peach at one of my demos at the Orange County Fair this year. You may not think peaches and jalapeños go well together, but rest assured, they are a powerhouse couple! Warm and sweet mixed together with a bit of savory heat and you’ve got yourself a perfect summer-inspired spicy peach salsa.
Here’s just a small sample of the peaches I chopped for this salsa! That’s six cups y’all!
If you like your salsa chunky, then chop your peaches, onions, jalapeños and peppers all to about the size of a corn kernel – maybe a bit larger. If you like your salsa smoother, pop all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and whiz them around until they reach the consistency you like best! Feel free to play with the spice level. If you like it hot, add more jalapeño! It’s your salsa. Whatever spice level you choose, please don’t forget to add salt and pepper and season to taste. It really does make a difference!

Here are all the great people who stopped in at the OC Promenade Stage to see my peach demos! Y’all were awesome! Especially the first group who weren’t expecting me, but another presenter. Thank you so much for sharing time with me! Since there were two back to back peach demo’s, there are two pictures! If you see yourself, please leave a comment and let me know how you liked the Fair and all these recipes!
My deepest thanks again to Melissa’s Produce for providing the peaches, jalapeños, bell peppers and red onions for this demo. I am so very grateful for your generosity!
There are two more peach recipes to come! If grapes are more your thing, here are the links to the grape demo recipes!
