We eat (and drink) with our eyes first, so having this delightful Strawberry Moscow Mule in a gorgeous copper mug just makes me all sorts of happy! I’m ashamed to tell you how long I’ve had these mugs and not used them. TOO LONG! These mugs are amazing! They are from MoscowMuled.com and are made of 100% pure high-grade and food-safe copper, lined with a layer of high-grade nickel. Handcrafted with using traditional methods, the mugs are hammered by hand to create that gorgeous dimpled pattern. Doing it by hand means every mug is unique with it’s own character. They are truly exceptional and I feel very fortunate to have them.
Anything would taste great in these gorgeous vessels. Water, Iced Coffee, Lemonade, Wine, Sparkling Cider… heck, you could even make a fancy chocolate milk and dip your favorite cookies in it!
I decided on a more traditional(ish) route for the inaugural sip from these mugs though. The original recipe is from The Speckled Palate. You may recall Erin’s recipes from my Dinner Diva Days! Strawberry Moscow Mule is both tart and sweet. It’s a fun, funky twist on the classic Moscow Mule, that’s perfect for the late lazy days of summer we’re currently enjoying. I’m not the biggest drinker in the bunch, but anything with strawberries, I’m game to try. Plus, I think it’s important for people to have a few basic drinks in their repertoire. You never know when you’ll be asked to be an impromptu bartender!
Made with fresh strawberries, lime juice, ginger beer, vodka and a bit of basil, they can easily be made into a non-alcoholic drink for non-drinkers, like me (or the kids) to enjoy. The basil is an especially summery addition to this drink. It’s fun to use different herbs in drinks or cocktails, either as a garnish, or muddled in to the drink itself.
Do you have a favorite version of Moscow Mule? Or are you like me and simply love the mug? I know it’s Summer right now, but these would make perfect gifts for the Moscow Mule (or beautiful mug lover) on your gift giving list! Check them out at MoscowMuled.Com
